~ No Greater Friend ~

As I was graced with this new day -
I just had you on my mind,
thinking of this bond we share -
sometimes a friend is hard to find.

I really don't know how it came -
this friendship between you and me,
but I know that it is a treasured gift -
and that it will always be.

You always give of yourself -
in so many unselfish ways.
You fill me with such joy and love -
you always know just what to say.

When I am somewhat down and out -
there is no need for me to care,
for some reason you always know -
and I am blessed that you are there.

We share the struggles and the joys -
no matter what the time or day,
and whether each might be busy -
we take the time to go out of our way.

This bond between both you and I -
is something that we both need,
and I have come to know our Lord -
from the example that you are to me.

I dwell each day in this delight -
and pray that this bond will never end.
I could search the whole world over -
and still not find no greater friend.
