FOREVER
How long is forever?
Is it the rest, of life?
Does it come with our dying breath,
Or at the end of strife?
Does it follow along the calendar
And the cycles of the moon?
Will it arrive like a shooting star
And flame out much too soon?
Could it be just one moment
Suspended in our time?
Is it really so much more
Than a single shivering spine?
We may never hope to find
Which one might be the way.
Just know that I will love you,
That long, and one more day.
