A Friendship Carol

Postby wordworx on Sun Dec 02, 2007 3:01 pm

God grant you grace, my gentle friends,
And much of Hope and Cheer,
As all bells chime for Christmastime,
And for a glad New Year!

God give you health, my loving friends,
To make and keep you whole;
And may His strength be yours at length
To lift your heart and soul.

God send you sight when things are dark,
The Truths of Life to see.
So that your talk and daily walk
Are all that they should be.

God rest you well, beloved friends,
And give you Joy and Peace;
And Christmas Day we all shall pray
That hate and strife will cease.

God help us all, both great and small,
To make each Christmas bright;
That Christliness may others bless,
And fill the world with Light!
I'm just an ol' country boy, trying to preserve a dwindling breed and a vanishing creed.

Roy, this would make a perfect ecard! Well done! May you be blessed with all God has for you my friend!

:oops: (Jumpin' jackrabbits, I'm gonna be water-logged if I soak my head much more!) :oops:

I truly appreciate your effusiveness for this verse, which I mean for as many people as possible to read, that they may not forget the true meaning of the Yuletide holiday. To have this made into an e-card would be a great boon indeed, for then it would reach even more folks who could help to spread the Light of Love . . . as we are bidden to do by Christ's supreme Law.

Once again, I agree with Marlys, Roy, she has excellent judgement in poems, this one would make a wonderful e-card.

I wouldn't dare argue with you ladies, and I'd dearly love to see it happen. Is this something I might do, or is that Skip's province?

Skip decides, others just recommend. Marlys and I both have already done that. If Skip wants it as an e-card, he will post it
here where the poem is at. You will know, if he does.

You've BOTH already done that? Even if Skip doesn't want it, thank you ever so much, Janice and Marlys!!! I cannot tell you how very much this means to me, that it might be shared far and wide, and perhaps bring a change of heart to someone who's down and depressed. . . . You are two of the most wonderful friends, truly! I can never adequately thank you enough! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Another fine write here Roy, you really have a gift for writing. I enjoyed reading it very much, as I know many more will too. It would make a lovely ecard, just as Maryls and Jan have pointed out. It truly portrays the meaning of Christmas, may God Always Keep Blessing You, through your fine writes, may your Christmas Day and the year ahead be filled with many Blessings for you and your loved ones.

That's very gracious of you also, BTBilly! (What IS your real handle, anyway?) I pray you and your family will have the most joyous Yuletide also, and that you will regale us with some inspiring composings of your own in the days ahead!

Keep well and stay blessed, sir!

Dear Roy,

If it's anything as exceptional as this poem, then you have my vote for an e-card. Thanks for sharing this awesome poem. God bless you and all those you love.

Many thanks, Steve; but go easy on the "awesome" word. Too many folks use it too lightly, I think, for God is the definition of awesome to my mind. Whenever something inspiring comes to mind (which occurs mostly at Christmas, for myself), then I do my best with what I mean to convey. It's certainly easier when one is "fired-up" with an idea, don't you think? That's when it's easiest, and I know who the words are coming from at those times.

Still, I thank you for your kind comments, my friend.

You have my gratitude also, Shakela. The Lord does indeed move us, and work through us at times of inspiration, and other instances.

I'm truly pleased if this simple verse heightens your joy in this most blessed holiday season.
