A Mother"s Day Blessing

Postby DeaconSteve on Tue May 02, 2006 2:19 am

A mother is a special person –
one whose love is always there,
one who sacrifices so very much –
just because she really cares.

A mother’s love is far extended –
ever present as we grow,
giving of herself unconditionally –
by what she does, and how it shows.

Always putting herself before others –
to meet her family’s every need,
never complaining of the burden,
of being the strength in each family.

Mom! this day that we celebrate –
in honor of your unselfish ways,
a tribute for all you’ve given –
we call it Mother’s Day!

And so a blessing is extended –
for, through God’s love you have been,
the greatest mom in all the world –
and most of all, a best friend.

May God bless you with His grace –
as you celebrate in a special way,
this day that is so special,
wishing you a happy Mother’s Day!

Love you Mom!

Thank all of you for your kind words. This is a tribute to all mothers, some of whom are yourselves, not you Jeff. You know first hand what a mother goes through, and how much of yourselves you give to your family. My mom is in heaven this year for Mother's Day, but nonetheless, I still wish her a Happy Mother's Day. God bless you all. All my love and prayers.

Thank you my friend for you kind words. Love both your names, Nyeahweh and Falling Leaf. Are of Native American heritage? So glad you like the poem. Again, thank you.

Yes I am proud to say, I am Tuscaroran, Cherokee and Saponi. Nyeahweh means thank you in Tuscaroran tho. I'm sorry if it misled you. Falling Leaf is my name. Tho Nyeahweh would of been a nice name also! I am happy you liked my poem. I read some of yours and they were wonderful!
