I asked God for courage, courage
to face the trials of this world.
I waited patiently,
but I heard not a word.

I asked God for strength,
so I could face everyday.
I listened and listened,
but not a word did he say.

I asked God for wisdom,
and waited for the reply.
Oh the silence was deafening,
so I let it slide by.

Then I asked for serenity,
and some love I could hold.
Just a small piece of heaven.
Things more precious than gold.

Everynight I would pray ,
faithfully , without doubt,
for all these things that I wanted ,
till my faith had run out.

Then I woke up this morning,
and I could clearly see ,
he had given me ALL these things and more,
when he introduced you to me !
